Life experiences
In this unit we're going to talk about our life experiences by using the present perfect tense.  Here you'll find some links to explanations, exercises and quizzes to practice the use of the Present Perfect.


ACTIVITY 1

2. Listen to the episode 18 "Thursday the third" (this is a .ram file, so you'll need the RealPlayer program to open it).  If you prefer, you can download the mp3 file.  


3. The written dialogue is also available online, so you can follow the episode by reading it.


4. After you have listened to the episode, go to http://www.eclecticenglish.com/grammar/PresentPerfect1A.html to get information about the Present Perfect tense.

When to use the Present Perfect Tense

5. After reading the explanation and observing examples, answer the exercise.
NOTE: The instruction says: "Choose for or since", that's a mistake.  The correct instruction must be: "Choose experience, continues up to now or present result".


6. Go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/flatmates/episode18/languagepoint.shtml and read the information about the Present Perfect Tense that The Flatmates give you on the "Language point" section.
